Would you like to learn how to draw with more precision and grace, but don’t know how to elevate your skill? Are you looking to become a more improved painter (better drawing is often the solution)? OR Are you looking to explore the grand possibilities of a becoming an artist? Then this is the drawing class for you! As a long time, professional 2-D artist and fine art educator, David holds a plentiful amount of experience in producing and teaching various styles of 2-D media. Regardless of your amount of experience, desired drawing style, subject preference, or preference of media, this class will assist in your growth as a 2-D artist.
Ultimately, this class will introduce, focus on and incorporate art fundamentals, more properly known as, the Elements of Art and the Principles of design. Typically, each lesson will focus on a specific element of art. In each lesson, to connect class content knowledge to student drawing application, historical and contemporary masters will be featured. In addition, tips, techniques, and common strategies will be shared to strengthen students’ ease and confidence when drawing. Finally, instruction will cover ways of “building up” an artwork to transcend sketches into masterpieces. The essential materials are a variety of Pencils, 2H-8B, erasers, and sketch pad (approximately 11” x 14”). You are welcome to explore with other materials. Need materials? I can provide you with all the necessary materials for the lesson, for a $5 fee, paid directly to the instructor at the beginning of class. Hope to see you there.
