In comparison to daytime paintings, night time works provide subjects and moments that are not as obvious. The search for something internal is more demanding and dynamic, in opposition to the humble harmony of a daytime work. Essentially, night paintings are aesthetically mysterious and compressed. This mysterious compression allows for a maze, which self truths can be sought after and revealed. The process in application is quite delicate, intensive and electrifying. A surface of a night painting is incredibly sensitive. The intensive action of painting night is an elegant dance between a smooth subtle dark transition into a drastic electrifying drawing in oils of a night time subject. Throughout the hours of night within the complexity of darkness and the intensity of lights I have been able to find spiritual clarity. And yes they do look awesome on the wall.
